Course Description/Rationale

This course aims to introduce and critically engage participants in the concepts and principles of the Blue, Green, Orange, Yellow and Purple Economies. Clustering. It will focus on discussing what is required to transition operations to the various economies and provide the tools to enable the businesses for them to do so.

Course Content

The following topics, concepts or issues will be discussed in the course as follows:

Part I – The Creative Orange Economy a.

Cultural and/or Creative Goods and Services

b. Organising the Orange Economy – Visual Arts vs. Cultural Industries c. New Media and Content Software – Digital Platforms & Software Creation

Part II – Green Economy a.

What is the Green Economy Approach?

b. Transitioning to the Green Economy as a business c. Measuring Progress within the Green Economy

Part III – Blue Economy a.

Understand what comprises the Blue Economy? b. Realising your business potential as a service provider within the Blue Economy.

Part IV – Main Opportunities for Sustainable and Growth within the Economies

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this course, participants should be able to: •

Understand the concepts, priorities and challenges within the Green, Blue and Orange Economies.

Teaching Methodology

This will be an interactive online course combining lectures and guest presentations. It will be delivered by means of daily lectures (2 hours per day) for two (2) weeks.
