Digital Connectors: A Game-Changer for Open Innovation in the Dominican Republic A major highlight of 2024 was the successful rollout of the Digital Connectors initiative in the Dominican Republic, implemented as part of the EU-LAC Digital Accelerator. This initiative, launched in collaboration with the Government of the Dominican Republic, the European Union, and key private sector partners, was designed to: Connect major Dominican corporations with startups and technology providers from Latin America and Europe. Foster corporate innovation partnerships that develop practical solutions for industries such as tourism, logistics, manufacturing, and financial services. Strengthen the Dominican digital economy by embedding best practices in innovation collaboration, digital adoption, and technology-driven growth. The Digital Connectors launch event in Santo Domingo attracted high-level corporate participation, demonstrating the growing interest among Dominican enterprises in leveraging open innovation as a tool for enhancing competitiveness and long-term business sustainability. Empowering MSMEs Through Digital Transformation

In an increasingly digital world, businesses must embrace technology to remain competitive, agile, and sustainable. Recognizing this imperative, Caribbean Export—through the Caribbean Digital Transformation Institute (CDTI)—is driving a regional shift toward digital maturity. Funded by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) through Compete Caribbean (2023-2026), the CDTI is a three-year initiative designed to equip MSMEs with the tools and insights needed to accelerate their digital transformation journey.
