3.4.5 | HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS

The tertiary institutions in Belize that could potentially provide teaching and training for RE professionals are the University of Belize (UoB) and the Galan University. There is no current research capacity.

The University of Belize (UoB) was established in 2000 from a merger of five institutions; the University College of Belize (UCB), the Belize Technical College (BTC), the Belize Teachers’ Training College (BTTC), the Belize School of Nursing (BSN), and the Belize College of Agriculture (BCA). The Galan University was founded in 2003. Unfortunately, there are no renewable energy courses being offered in Belize and no specific plans exist to do so soon. Currently, they play no significant role in the RE Industry. The HEI stakeholder relationships are extrapolated from the other stakeholders which interact with them. a) b)
