While at least half the participants were able to conduct direct B2B meetings with key buyers, and take advantage of the overall networking opportunities with potential business partners and buyers. Unintended targetsmet included assessing other players and trends in the Cuban market, attracting buyers and distributors from other CARIFORUM countries, and holding discussions with Cuban importers. Nine companies were able to secure a joint total of approximately 136 general leads, with 45 being serious; these included distributors, wholesales, re-sellers, buyers, suppliers, manufactures, specialty food stores, and government agencies. Further, three firms were able to negotiate contracts during FIHAV with Cuban or other international business counterparts valued at US$50,000. To date, 52 firms from eight CARIFORUM States have participated in FIHAV under the 10th EDF RPSDP and the full list is available at Annex 7. Further to the afore-mentioned interventions, Caribbean Export also provided support to 605 firms as they participated in a series of trade missions, forums, and study tours under the 10th EDF RPSDP.
