The UCC Group and Spectrum Capital Holdings are leading the development of EcoVista Jamaica, a 283-acre smart sustainable city and wellness-driven eco-resort and university town in Trelawny, Jamaica. This transformative project integrates higher education, tourism, commercial spaces, housing, and ESG infrastructure, aligning with Jamaica’s Vision 2030. Investors will benefit from Special Economic Zone (SEZ) incentives offered by the Government of Jamaica. With a capital request ranging from US$15 million to $500 million, EcoVista Jamaica will be delivered in phases, including hotel and villa resorts, health and wellness facilities, a technology and innovation village, commercial areas, residential housing, academic infrastructure, and green utilities. This development is designed to redefine sustainable living in the Caribbean, merging ecological preservation with future-ready urban planning. EcoVista is anchored in three pillars of sustainability: environmental stewardship, social responsibility, and economic vitality. The project incorporates life preserving strategies focused on energy, water, air, and food conservation and generation. It will be largely self-sustaining—producing its own energy, recycling and harnessing water, and repurposing waste through advanced technologies and nature-powered solutions. This multi-faceted ecosystem features three distinct hotel resorts, luxury villas, middle- to high-income housing, and an eco-business park. At its core is the UCC Knowledge Campus, a hub for social and intellectual development. The city will include approximately 500 residences, powered by solar and wind energy. Advanced sewage treatment will allow gray water reuse for irrigation and other non-potable purposes. Construction will emphasize recyclable, green, and sustainable materials, contributing to Jamaica’s renewable energy transformation and national sustainability goals. EcoVista’s design carefully preserves the surrounding mangrove ecosystem and pristine white-sand beaches while delivering high-tech, eco-conscious educational, residential, commercial, and resort amenities. This holistic approach stimulates economic activity, generates jobs, creates diverse housing options, and offers educational and recreational opportunities for multiple income groups. By blending cutting-edge technology with environmental harmony, EcoVista Jamaica will foster long-term prosperity, serving as a model for sustainable living and future-focused community development. Ultimately, it will enhance regional growth, particularly in Trelawny and western Jamaica, while contributing to the country’s broader sustainability ambitions.
