DHL GoTrade Initiative

Building on the October 10th, 2024 Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Caribbean Export and DHL (Barbados) Ltd., the DHL GoTrade initiative has continued to strengthen MSME competitiveness by improving practical capability in logistics, customs, and e-commerce, which are critical functions for firms seeking to enter and scale in export markets. Over the reporting year, DHL facilitated seven GoTrade activities, through the provision of technical expertise and resource persons under the DHL GoTrade framework. Under this framework, Caribbean Export has expanded its capacity building offering to include: • Enhancing MSMEs ability to navigate cross-border trade requirements, including customs procedures, export documentation and risk management in shipping. • Improving business readiness to leverage e-commerce as a route to market, including practical considerations for fulfilment and logistics. • Expanding awareness of operational best practices through structured, self paced eLearning modules aligned with GoTrade SME training offer. Activities Delivered • Virtual Sessions - Navigating Customs (delivered twice) – 124 participants - Welcome to eCommerce – 40 participants - International Contracts and Conventions – 27 participants • In-Country Sessions - Exporting with confidence to Canada: Logistics and Trade (GRIT, Saint Lucia) – 29 participants • eLearning Modules

- Essentials of Logistics Operations – 24 Completions - Innovation & Continuous Improvement – 9 participants

The DHL GoTrade series demonstrates the value of strategic partnerships in expanding access to specialist trade knowledge, particularly in areas where MSMEs face constraints.
