The High Commision Of Canada As Caribbean Export marks 30 years of service to the region, Global Affairs Canada is pleased to recognise its longstanding contribution to private sector development and inclusive economic growth across the Caribbean. Canada’s engagement in the region is grounded in a commitment to strengthen climate resilience, economic growth, and regional stability. Supporting sustainable economic opportunity, advancing women’s economic empowerment, and strengthening the capacity of businesses to participate more fully in regional and international trade is important to support trade diversification and reinforce Canada-Caribbean business linkages. helping women-led businesses build productivity, competitiveness, and export readiness, while expanding access to the training, market intelligence, networks, and technical support needed to grow resilient enterprises. Caribbean Export is a valued partner in advancing these objectives. Its regional reach, technical expertise, and longstanding relationships across CARIFORUM make it well placed to deliver practical support that responds to the needs of entrepreneurs and helps translate development priorities into measurable results. We congratulate Caribbean Export on this milestone anniversary and look forward to continued collaboration in support of a more inclusive, resilient, and prosperous Caribbean.
Caribbean Women Generating Resilient and Inclusive Trade (GRIT)
Funded by Global Affairs Canada and implemented by Caribbean Export, the GRIT project is a four-year regional initiative (2025–2028) designed to increase the productivity, competitiveness, and export readiness of women-led businesses across the Caribbean. Working in Belize, Dominica, Grenada, Jamaica, Saint Lucia, and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, GRIT delivers targeted capacity building and market support - such as improved access to trade intelligence and networks, plus training and grants to help firms adopt greener business practices and technology - so women-owned enterprises can scale and compete regionally and internationally.
