DIGITAL HORIZONS:

UNLOCKING INNOVATION, INCLUSION AND COMPETITIVENESS

2026 Outlook For the Caribbean, 2026 will mark the transition from analysis to direct support for social innovators and entrepreneurs. The programme will work closely with emerging ventures to strengthen organisational capacities, refine business models, and prepare initiatives for growth through investment and strategic partnerships. A key milestone will be the development of a dedicated social innovation track within the Caribbean Investment Forum, creating opportunities for social entrepreneurs to engage directly with private sector stakeholders, development partners, and impact investors. The EU–LAC Social Accelerator will advance along the Social Innovation Route, moving from ecosystem mapping and capacity building toward experimentation, acceleration, and early-stage implementation.

Social Innovation: Reduce inequalities/gender impact

To expand access to resources, the programme will launch two calls for proposals in 2026. The first will target social innovation organisations, supporting initiatives that enable them to reach communities in vulnerable and resource-constrained situations. The second will be aimed at entrepreneurs seeking seed capital to test and scale solutions with measurable social impact. Through these instruments, the EU–LAC Social Accelerator will convert ecosystem strengthening into concrete opportunities for Caribbean citizens, fostering a pipeline of investable social enterprises that contribute to a more inclusive and resilient region.
