2025 Highlights and Achievements In 2025, implementation formally commenced, establishing the programme’s operational and strategic direction and reinforcing alignment with Global Gateway initiatives being deployed in the Caribbean. The Accelerator deepened engagement with ecosystem stakeholders to build ownership and sustained commitment, while also strengthening visibility through participation in key regional and global platforms. Participation in flagship regional initiatives reinforced this positioning, including the EU-LAC Silver Economy Forum in Barcelona, Spain, where the role of ageing populations in social entrepreneurship took center stage; and the Social Entrepreneurship Symposium in the Dominican Republic, which marked the launch of the first ever national registry of social entrepreneurs in the country. A major milestone was the launch of the Social Innovation Poles mapping initiative across Barbados, Jamaica, the Dominican Republic, and Trinidad and Tobago, generating critical baseline insights to guide future implementation and investment. As part of the programme’s global outreach and advocacy efforts, Caribbean Export participated in the Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development, where the EU–LAC Social Accelerator was presented as a flagship initiative for advancing social entrepreneurship and innovation in the Caribbean region. This engagement enabled direct dialogue with representatives from more than 50 governments and over 4,000 civil society stakeholders, positioning the programme within global discussions on inclusive finance, impact investment, and the contribution of social enterprises to the Sustainable Development Goals.
