Inter-American Development Bank

Inter-American Development Bank The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) warmly congratulates Caribbean Export on its 30th Anniversary. We are proud to partner with an agency that has delivered three decades of results-driven support to the region’s private sector. Our collaboration is built on shared goals and a commitment to measurable impact. A prime example is our recent signing of an agreement at CIF 2025 to collaborate, including through the ONE Caribbean Project Preparation Coordination Mechanism (PPCM), which seeks to connect vital regional projects with international investors. We also highly value Caribbean Export’s work through Compete Caribbean’s Digital and Climate Technology Extension Project, which is empowering local MSMEs to adopt technologies that drive productivity and enhance climate resilience. This partnership continues to yield tremendous benefits for the Caribbean, and we are excited to deepen our collaboration in the decades ahead.

Transforming Caribbean Businesses for the Digital Future Across the Caribbean, many MSMEs still grapple with limited digital skills, fragmented systems, and the high cost of adopting new technologies— constraints that directly affect their ability to compete, grow, and export. In 2025, the Caribbean Digital Transformation Institute (CDTI) continued to refine its tools and approaches to directly address these challenges and better reflect the realities of Caribbean firms. Funded by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and implemented in partnership with Compete Caribbean (2023–2026), the initiative is emerging as a regional hub where businesses can diagnose their digital gaps, access tailored learning, track their progress over time, and generate much-needed data insights to inform national and regional digital policies.

Through the online portal (digitaltransformationinstitute.com) , MSMEs follow a simple but powerful journey:

1. 2. 3.

Assess their current digital capacity via a digital check-up, Strengthen it through targeted e-learning and resources, and Apply new skills and tools in their operations, sales, and management.
