Desk research should as far as practicable consider trade and investment data and available literature; 6. Conduct desk research identifying investment opportunities and challenges between the two parties to the Agreement; 7. Conduct interviews where necessary with an agreed sample of CARIFORUM and UK firms from specific sectors, focusing attention on: a. Their experiences in exporting goods and services to the UK or importing from the Caribbean; b. Their experiences investing in the UK or in the Caribbean; c. Measures taken to mitigate some of the challenges encountered; d. Recommendations on ways to improve CARIFORUM-UK trade and investment, including technical assistance. 8. Demonstrate a clear understanding of the assignment and develop a research design and methodology which appropriately reflects their understanding of the assignment and is commensurate with the expected standards for high quality business and economic research. 9. Create, synthesize and collate quantitative and qualitative information regarding the activities to be undertaken and deliverables identified. 10. Undertake desk research/interviews, which should include engagement with firms, industry associations and government ministries/competent authorities etc., in CARIFORUM and the UK.

1.3 Global Objective of the Terms of Reference

As stated in the Terms of Reference (ToR), Caribbean Export Development Agency (Caribbean Export) is a trade and investment promotion agency established to support the CARIFORUM private sector and has been pursuing strategies that promote not only exports but high value-added
