The region’s services trade and investment activities by Mode of Supply , also established its tremendous dependence on Mode 2 - consumption abroad for the export of services, which accounted for the vast majority of the value of services traded by the region. This is no doubt due to the region’s corresponding high dependence on tourism exports, which is a largely arm’s length activity. Mode 1 also plays a very significant role in the services exported by the region, though this mode of supply is more pronounced in the non-tourist destinations regionally. This, however, was with the notable exception of The Bahamas, which, while a major regional tourism hub, conducted the majority of its trade via electronic commerce, followed by commercial establishment abroad (Mode 3), perhaps reflecting its importance as an offshore financial hub.

Regarding the bilateral trade in services between CARIFORUM and the UK , the latter led the region in four of the top five services traded between them, though CARIFORUM’s significant
