The data further shows that exports via Mode 2 was by far the most dominant means by which CARIFORUM states exported services internationally, during the period, especially for tourism dependent Saint Lucia (90.5%), Grenada (87.2%), Dominican Republic (85.3%), Haiti (83.3%) and St. Kitts and Nevis (82.6%). Equally tourism dependent Jamaica was also just outside of the top five with Mode 2 accounting for an 81% share. This trend, however, was with the notable exception of that observed for The Bahamas, a major regional tourist hub, followed by Suriname, Guyana and to a lesser extend Trinidad and Tobago which, instead, demonstrated overall greater reliance on Mode 1 exports in order to supply the global market. This was especially so for Guyana, in which this Mode accounted for approximately two-thirds (66.2%) of that country’s total exports.
