Message From Minister of Financial Services Commonwealth of The Bahamas Hon. L. Ryan Pinder, M.P.

I wish to welcome ministerial colleagues, delegates and presenters to 3rd Caribbean Conference on the International Financial Services Sector, being held under the theme “The Caribbean Engaging The World in Financial Services.” Indeed, the Caribbean region recognizes that in order to remain competitive, it must be able to continually engage with the global community in an ever changing environment. As the Minister of Financial Services, I am always acutely mindful of the fact that we exist in an interdependent world. The strength and success of the Caribbean’s financial services sector will continue to be determined by the individual actions of our countries which impact the reputation of the region collectively. I am certain that this Conference will provide a timely opportunity for key regional stakeholders to collaborate and discuss ways in which the Caribbean can continue to effectively and strategically engage the world in financial services for this region’s long term growth and development. I wish to also extend my personal gratitude to the Caribbean Export Development Agency and to the staff of the Ministry of Financial Services for their tremendous efforts in organizing this Conference. I look forward to achieving a productive outcome built on common understanding and mutual commitment to the success of the region.
